Lyn McOnie
Managing Director
A professional genealogist with more than 40 year’s family history research and teaching experience. Several of those years were spent as a volunteer at Family History Centres in South Auckland. More than any other aspect of Family History, Lyn enjoys helping people find their own ancestors. The joy of identifying an ancestor you thought was lost is beyond words.
She has been a member of the New Zealand Society of Genealogists since 1994 and had several articles published in The New Zealand Genealogist. In 2005 Lyn received the Lucy Marshall award for excellence in a family history article.
For most of 2005-6 she helped in Research Support at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City. This involved assisting people with their research questions from around the world. While in the USA she attended many Family History conferences and took advantage of every opportunity to gain more knowledge.
Her academic qualifications include a Graduate Diploma in Not-for-Profit Management, a Certificate in Higher Education and a Certificate in Small Business Management.
She has the skills and experience to help people with the methodology of family history, New Zealand and UK research and can offer advice regarding the rest of the world.

Susan Williams
Associate
Originally from England, Susan has been researching her English, Irish and Welsh ancestors for more than 38 years. During this time she has also spent 10 years as a Family History Centre consultant.
She has a degree in English and worked as a Secondary School Teacher of English and History. A keen interest in history has been a real bonus for her as a family history researcher and helped her find vital clues on a number of occasions.
Now retired Susan is enjoying the opportunity to get more deeply involved with her own family history and enjoy the challenge of helping others get to know their ancestors.

Val Waldek
Associate
Val came to New Zealand from South Africa just seven years ago. She has been researching her South African and English ancestors for more than 35 years. During this time she has also spent 10 years as a Family History Centre consultant.
